Public Servie Announcement-Investigation (suicide)

    Our group is doing a public service announcement on teen bullycide, we will be presenting a clip on suicide as a non funded organization and we want to convey suicide across the American public. We are hoping to target a specific cause of suicide to lower the rates because suicide is the third leading cause of death in teens from 15-24. This is relevant to today's culture because it is affecting the future of American teens and make sure that people facing this know that they are not alone and that there are people out there wiling to help them.
    We used search engines to fined more about bullycide and we made sure they were trusted sources. We looked at the links and used the .net .gov .org to verify its validity. We also looked at the authors and the date the information was published. This helped us determine weather or not the information was relevant.
    We were able to find lots of information that was helpful to develop our project because we will be giving more information on suicide and then we will present a specific case to get to peoples emotions so they join our cause against suicide awareness.

Personal Digital Story-Evaluate

  To the class mates that evaluated my story I did a fair project. But I know I could have done a lot better and I could have pushed my self to have completed a nearly excellent profile. To my audience this might seam to captivate a part of my life but it did not come out the way i wanted to. I wanted to captivate my public audience by the music and pictures but I feel like that didn't happen.
  The Stages of my design cycle could be improved to better my project. In the investigation plan I couldn't change much because I was going to show only parts of my life through out my slide. In the Design I could have looked in further to my family albums to get better pictures that helped give an image of what my life was at specific moments. I believe I did a good job in the Planing stage because I had a detailed out line of what I wanted in my slide and it helped me incorporate and plan the iMovie.    The creation of my iMovie was easier because I was able to do it easily with no difficulty because of my design plan which pretty much outlined what I wanted with my iMovie. When evaluation my project I got the fair scores and I also saw that I underestimated my own project because I felt that I didn't do a good job of captivating my audience.

Personal Digital Story - Planning

To create my digital story board I chose ten pictures and created an ending and beginning slide. This story board is over all my life and what it encompasses. The beginning slide will introduce a little of my self and what I am presenting. The second slide will show a glimpse of who I have become. The next six sides are what you can call the body of my story board. They show me from birth and of memorable moments as I progressed in life. The ninth and tenth slide will be a collage of friends and people who form my life the eleventh slide will be of people who made an important influence of my life and the twelfth slide will close my story board with "The End". By already having my pictures digitalized and my design ready I will be able to effectively finish my story board in no time. This way I will have plenty of extra time in case I run into any problems I will be able to make last minute changes. Some changes that I made were with my transitions I wanted transitions that made the next slide pop out to really captivate the people looking at my board so I had to find the right transitions for the right pictures while making the ken burns effect work with the pictures flow. The song i am looking for will be one that has a slow rhythm to fit the mood of my story board but also not to smooth that it makes my audience fall asleep.

Personal Digital Story - Design

Initially I had three designs that I later modified over the course of several days to where I now have the final design for my finished product. The first design was to do a story of who I am but I ran into the problem of not knowing what to put as pictures and it didn't cover the required time needed. The second design was going to be about my chilled hood but I didn't like the pictures and I didn't like the ones that I had so that conflicted with what I wanted for my design. The third design which is the one I choose was an over all view of my entire life. It encompasses my childhood till the person I am today and who have been the influential people in my life. Not only that but it gives a brief view of who I would like to become as I progress through out my life. The only problem I ran into was with what pictures I was going to use but the timing was good and I liked what I was going to share in my digital story.  I also liked this design over the rest because it gives a greater understanding of who my persona is.

DGA Personal Digital Story - Investigation

While in the process of creating my digital story I faced some problems that were significant to my creation of the story board. I faced the problem where I had no idea what part of my life I was going to share to my audience, but I decided I would share my life in general. A problem that I later faced was finding the right pictures to go along with my iMovie. Im a really reserver person especially when it comes to pictures so this was something that took a lot of courage for me to do. When creating my iMovie I first chose the most significant events in my life and some of the most significant people to be part of my digital story. Then I obtained the pictures that went along with those events. For example I choose to add the moments in my life when I went to Niagra Falls, Queretaro and San Miguel De Ayende, therefor I added pictures when I when to these places. Some pictures I already had them digitalized and other i had to scan and later crop and fix them. I feel that the information I learned for iMovie which Mrs. Hernadez taught us was very relevant because I was able to learn all the basics so I could  accomplish my goal of creating the digital story.

This week I learned how to use iMovie and I was able to create part of the project we have for Mrs. Hernandez class. I will be able to use this skill for college if I ever take a technology class. Not only then will I be able to use it but also during my personal life. For the days to come I hope we learn how to create a web site and also present our works so I can perfect my presentation skills because I want to practice speaking in public.

Acomplishments

This week I have learned more for math and science than I ever have since last year. I have learned a grate deal of information which I remember with the help of qizes on fridays'. For D.G.A. I haven't learned a whole lot since we are just going over the basics but i'm sure we will learn a lot more complicated things. What i've learned this week will help me strengthen the basis of my understanding for theses two subjects. It will help me later on in life for example in college if I have to take a class for these subjects I will have plenty of understanding. My goals for this week are too learn more about creating a web site and hopefully with the help of Ms. H I will accomplish that.

-Accomplishments- (First Blog Post 8/26/10)

This week I was able to organize all my school work into folders to keep track of everything I do. This way I can keep my school and my personal life balances. I've earned the basis of my studies for the next too years and this will help me maintain my school averages high. What iv'e learned this week will help me become a better student and a better individual as I progress through out life and I evolve different stages. I wish to learn more about the world and everything thats outside of our own perfect sphere (U.S.). To know the world beyond our own is to conquer our own understanding of the universe.
